What exactly is schizophrenia and how do people who are diadnosed with behave and interact with our society?To answer this question, we went through many pychology and awarness websites such as the Guardian and Psychiarty org. This is our report on the findings.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that can affect the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of a person. Schizophrenia patients may have hallucinations, i.e., hear or see something that doesn't exist, and delusions, i.e., false convictions based on unreal facts. Disorganized thought, i.e., confused thoughts and speech, and disorganized behavior in the way of abrupt outbreaks of agitation or laughing inappropriately may be shown by schizophrenia patients. Social withdrawal is also common, and individuals feel isolated from others or don't want to be around other individuals. Low motivation may also occur, resulting in diminished interest in activities of daily life.

Treatment of schizophrenia typically includes antipsychotic medication to control the symptoms. Psychological treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy or supportive psychotherapy may also be beneficial. Therapy and psychosocial interventions can assist individuals to learn coping skills, and rehabilitation programs can assist them to reintegrate into the community.

The prognosis of schizophrenia varies in every individual. With treatment and care, certain individuals are able to manage symptoms effectively and achieve productive lives, but others are likely to develop more chronic impairments.
